Circuitry

Today's meditation revolves around our natural circuitry. We have a tremendous amount of energy and capability that travels through our bodies on a power grid of channels. At times, however, these channels can become blocked or damaged and we are rendered virtually paralyzed to it's use.
Over the last week or so, I have been in a state of what can only be described as extreme fatigue- bordering on exhaustion. The air has been too thick to breathe, getting out of bed in the morning- nearly impossible. My day-to-day life felt like.. like it was too much. I couldn't bring myself to go to the gym, let alone keep my eyes open at work! These physical symptoms were the direct result of nothing else but my own actions.

Our circuitry is delicate and needs proper maintenance. A great number of you might not be aware of this since you never maintenance your power grid. You live a life of perpetual fatigue and this is normal for you. You could not comprehend the fact that you have enough energy in your body to power the city of Manhattan. You live each day as if you were fighting a battle, and return home each night with the battle scars to prove it.

Others of us are blessed to see a deeper truth- that our bodies ARE a temple, our temple, and we must do everything possible to heal, maintain and nurture it's growth and defend it from the desecration that can occur on a daily basis from living our busy lives in neglect of ourselves. When our mind, body and soul are in sync we can tell because we feel good, energized even invincible. But, unless we have been taking care of ourselves- eating when we are hungry, sleeping when we are tired, drinking plenty of fluids, practicing yoga, relaxing our nervous system, opening our pulmonary-circulatory systems, flushing our urinary/excretory system (Can't say enough about drinking water and taking Metamucil! You will see dramatic changes in the way you feel!), maintaining a healthy diet low in fat and high in protein and vegetables, etc- we will have little to no ability to manifest this energy and balance in the real world around us.

This has been my primary malady over the last week or so. I have been pushing too hard, too fast. It is fun to go out all night with friends. But staying out until 5am and going to work by 8am does not cut it. I was not sleeping enough. I was expending energy and not replenishing it. I found myself dehydrated and lackadaisical. I skipped my yoga class twice- something that I know I MUST practice in my life to stay centered and balanced. Yoga is really one activity that centers mind, body and soul. It builds strength while detoxifying our bodies and our minds. It takes stress from the mind and puts focus on seeing the truth through our mind's eye. After practicing for so long- I realize it's importance in my life and skipping it does nothing glamorous for me. I engaged in behavior that was not adding value to my life, but was removing splendor. I was running and lifting weights without taking care of my mind and circuitry which further irradiates my ability. I realize now, that the only way to counteract the devastation on my body, mind and spirit ISN'T to fight it anymore, but instead chase the things that fulfill my needs, heal my circuitry and replace void with plenty.

That being said- chase the things that we know work, even if we feel too exhausted to begin. Get out of the house and go for a run (pulmonary-circulatory system)! Do things to stimulate natural body functions- drinking more than enough water, adding some good sources of fiber to our diet, removing toxicity from our diets! Stimulate/relax your nervous system- yoga/meditation. SLEEP when you are tired! Eat when you are hungry! Listen to the natural rhythms of your body and give it what it asks for! You will feel worlds better and you will be able to focus your life and your energy on things you really want, things that will bring you long term satisfaction and splendor. You have the foundation to be amazing, unclog and repair your circuitry and allow marvelous things to happen in your life- you won't regret it.

Besos!
